Inspired by the land, fueled by family

Who we are

We’re Andrew and Giuseppa Nadrowski — the husband and wife duo behind G’s Family Farm.

In 2022, we had a crazy idea: What if we transformed a few empty fields on our family’s former Christmas tree farm in northern Michigan into beautiful rows of organic lavender — all while still living in Metro Detroit.

The soil was perfect as was the climate. We ordered 1,500 Phenomenal lavender (lavandula x intermedia) plugs to plant the following spring.

We were hooked. The next year, we said, “why not” and decided to plant about 3,500 more.

Today, we have over 5,000 plants which we grow using all natural and organic practices to ensure that our two children, as well as future generations, can enjoy the land, too.

As a family, we hand harvest each plant and then steam distill the buds to create our pure essential oil and hydrosol — each of which forms the foundation of our luxurious, artisan products that we hand craft ourselves in small batches using only the highest quality ingredients.

In the coming years, we hope to expand the farm introducing Christmas trees again, a nursery, workshops, and more.

The man behind the “G”

There’s more to our story…

G’s Family Farm is located in South Boardman, a small town about 30 minutes east of downtown Traverse City. The farm’s story begins with Giuseppa’s late grandfather, Giuseppe “Joe” Lucido who purchased the land in the late 1960s. A Sicilian immigrant and a beloved barber on the east side of Detroit, our grandfather worked for decades growing his farm, slowly purchasing parcel by parcel, meticulously hand planting thousands of trees and making the 3-plus hour drive each weekend to tend to his land. Lucido’s Quality Family Christmas Tree farm was beloved for it’s flawless evergreens, and come the holidays, people from all over would rush to visit his tree lot in Fraser so that they could pick out one of Joe’s perfect firs or pines for their living rooms.

The farm not only holds countless, cherished family memories of time spent with he and our late grandmother, Maria, but it is also a representation of who our grandfather was — a man known for his endless generosity, an unparalleled work ethic, a contagious passion for the land, and a selfless love for his family. He meant the world to us, to his family, to his friends, and to the many others who were lucky to know him.

We hope to not only continue his legacy but to always honor him in everything we do.
